Ok, just taken apart two whole laptops for parts basically because neither laptop was any good. Before i destroyed them i did try to see whether they where worth saving. One laptop turned on perfectly and run ok apart from it was old and the battery had it, the other couldn't load its hard drive when i turned it on. So i swapped the hard drives over, in the perfectly laptop it ran like normal, so i new it wasn't the hard drive.
Like i said, they are both dismantled now and i have just found out that the laptop that ran fine had two RAM's installed, both 512MB, the other laptop only had one, 1Gb.
My question is could by having one missing RAM course the laptop from not reading the hard drive? I mean i have no clue if there was originally 2 installed or anything .
