Unable to install anything

Revently, almost everything I have tried to download has had a "The file, directory name, or volume label syntax is incorrect" pop up when I've tried to run it. I can't even run HijackThis. Having done a search, it seems that I might have a trojan in my system, but Malwarebytes and Superantispyware have come up with nothing.
Any suggestions?
