Solved: trouble installing windows XP os

(I am new to this and learning about computers.)

I replaced a bad hard drive in an old computer with one out of another computer that was good and I'm trying to install windows XP os (that I own) but after the setup restarts my computer i get this error:

"Windows could not start because of a computer disk hardware
configuration problem.
Could not read from the selected boot disk. Check boot path
and disk hardware.
Please check the Windows documentation about hardware disk
configuration and your hardware reference manuals for
additional information."

I am wondering how to get past this. (this computer was built from scratch a long time ago and was given to me when the hard drive went bad)
