Lan will not connect

Hi..
I Have 2 computers one office Beige Box type.. and one Laptop.
We just installed ADSL to the office.. which has wifi and LAN connections to Internet

With the laptop.. I can access the net either way.. Cable or Wifi no problems

The Beige Box (win XP SP3 ) has no wifi ability.. the LAN was working.. but for no apparent reason stopped.

When installed they set it up to obtain IP Automatic.

When running this way I get a " Acquiring IP Address " message.. and it then reverts to Little or no connectivity message.
There is no connex to the net.
I opened the Network Connections in Control panel.. went to Properties of LAN connection 2
(Why 2? I only have one setup ?) and input the same settings as were shown on the Laptop LAN connection.. ie..IP Addres, subnet mask, Default Gateway and DNS Servers ( 8.8.8.8 4.4.4.4)

Now.. the Lan connection icon in the tray.. says im connected at 100mb/sec but thats just to the LAN.. after that there is nothing.. still no Internet.
I tried disabling the Windowz Firewall .. no change
I went to CMD and reset winsock to Catalog.. no change

The Router is a NEW TP Link TD W8151N

I can access the inbuilt pages of the Router at 192.168.1.1 and I turned off VLAN as I read somewhere that could help.. but no difference.

I would consider un installing and re installint the Eternet card.. Realtek RTL139 but I think its ok because I can also use our old Internet system .. a USB Dongle that connects to the Mobile network.. this still works fine.. but we have switched to ADSL.. so I want the LAN Cable to work.

RECAP.. wifi and LAN cable work ok on Laptop.
No Lan connection to Beige Box.. no wifi ability.. but Dongle works ok

Please.. I await your words of wisdom..
