Best Method for burning flv file to dvd

Hopefully someone can help me with this.

I captured a 2:00 min segment flv flash video clip of the Today show on the NBC website using my windows 8 32 bit Firefox and a firefox app "Download Helper" which appears to have produced an acceptable end flv file video. I want to burn this onto a dvd for playing on a regular home stand alone dvd player. I've tried burning it using DVD Flick using the original flv file and the end result is that when the dvd is played on my samsung dvd player the image is ok but the first 5 or so seconds of it have no sound and is out of sync and then it continues to play normally but with "Jittering" of the video here and there as it plays. When the same dvd is played on my computer the sound/sync problem does not occur it's all there from the start in sync although there is still a bit of jittering.(Not in the original file when played on the computer.
I should mention that DVD Flick is an excellent software and I always use it to burn video files to dvd with never a problem.
By the way, the burning speed on dvd flick is set to 4X apparently by default with no apparent way to change that as it is greyed out. Maybe I could figure that out if I have to change it for some reason to fix this problem.

I am wondering what I need to do in order to produce a dvd that will play correctly on the Samsung as the one I have burned plays on the computer. I burned the one above on a re-writeable disk as I already burned it to a R writeable disk which had the same problem. The samsung plays all my other burned movies etc without problem.

Can anyone offer an explanation and solution? I've tried to research this on the internet but always find myself drowning in a sea of advertisements posing as possible solutions and previous outdated forum answers which quickly go "Off Point" or don't really address my question. Thanks for any suggestions.
