I tried to go through the post but wasn't sure just what I need to do. I formatted and reinstalled my Windows 7 Home Premium SP1 X64 in my HP Pavilion dv6-6180us Entertainment PC laptop. I have been unable to connect to my modem or get on the internet. Message is Network Adapter missing. I did go and download 2 drivers sp54002.exe and sp53753 because it said I was missing drivers ( I had reinstall once before and use these and I had no problem, but it didn't solve the issue this time).
I went to start and did a CMD search and came up with this :
Windows IP Configuration
Host Name (my name was there)
Primary Dns Suffix (this was blank)
Node Type (Hybrid)
IP Routing Enabled (no)
WINS Proxy Enabled (no)
When I go to Device Manager Listed under Other devices (All yellow !)
! Ethernet Controller
! Network Controller
! PCI Device
! SM Bus Controller
! Universal Serial Bus (UBS) Controller
! Universal Serial Bus (UBS) Controller
! Unknown Device
! Unknown Device
Can you advise me on what my next step should be?
Thanks
