I have a Dell XPS 420 desktop computer with Windows Vista 32 as its operating system. I began experiencing issues with my pixels scrambling and (ATI 2600) game card crashes after an automatic ATI/AMD update. I also have Kaspersky anti-virus software on my computer. The two had driver conflicts after the update. My game card eventually failed completely after numerous crashes and computer shut-downs. I was advised to run Combo-Fix (with detailed instructions) and during the process of Combo-Fix running, the computer crashed and came back up with a black screen with a white cursor. I cannot access my cd/dvd drive, internet, safe mode, etc. The only thing I can do is go through the F8 feature. Restore points are gone. Last good configuration does nothing. I need to uninstall the old drivers from my ATI/AMD graphics card and install a new GEForce game card, but I don't know how to do it through the command prompt. I downloaded DriveSweeper, DriverDetective, DriverFusion, but I received errors on all of them and they would not install. There are tax files and other files as well as passwords on the computer that I cannot afford to lose. I don't want to reinstall windows if at all possible. Any suggestions? I desperately need help as soon as possible. I am at a complete standstill until I can uninstall the old drivers and install the new ones.
