Hi all,
I am new here and I am having issues with my desktop computer. It is a compaq. not sure what it all has but it is a basic computer nothing fancy. It was working great a couple hours ago. I then decided to move it. So I unplugged it moved it plugged it back in just like I had before but now it is saying Disk boot failure insert system disc and press enter. The only problem is I do not have a system disc for it. I really hope this can be fixed. I was hoping to use this computer for a craft computer.
My main computer is my laptop. Thank god I have 2 computers.

Help, I'm stinking in windows xp upgrade quicksand!
I have repeatedly tried to install the following windows xp upgrade without success: Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5 Service Pack 1 and .NET Framework 3.5 Family Update for .NET versions 2.0 through 3.5 (KB951847) x86
Each time it has failed. I have gotten the following error code messages:
Error Code: 0x80070002
Error Code: 0x8007064C
Please show me how to fix this. I have searched multiple times the internet for solutions none of them work. They are suppose to be critical and there are a much more upgrades that apparently require this one to be installed first. Any help is
greatly appreciated.

How do I override the default drive "DVD RW Drive (D:)" when creating a Windows 7 System Repair Disc so that I can create it on my portable hard drive (WG My Passport) instead? It does not give me the option to change the drive and I'd like to use my portable hard drive as opposed to numerous DVD's.

How can I or can I make this work. I have a dual screen setup on this computer and need a third for a projector. I have an XFX 7870 video card with an ASRock Z87 Extreme 4 motherboard with a Xeon E3-1245 V3 CPU. It has HDMI out and in. Is it possible to hook up the third monitor(PJ) or not? Thanks.

After two years of seeing smaller companies dabble with smart watches, the big tech companies have decided it's time to enter the market.
Samsung and Qualcomm both unveiled their first connected watches this week, Sony recently updated its SmartWatch product and Google and Apple are both rumored to be prepping their own releases in the next year or so.
The smartphone war is heating up, but what exactly are these companies fighting for?
Until now, smart watch shipments have been negligible, to say the least. Most analysts we spoke with only started tracking the market recently and estimate that units are currently measured in the thousands per month. But the expectation is that the market will explode in the next five years.

Hello,
I've been using JASC's Paint Shop Pro 7 (version 7.00) and Animation Shop 3 (version 3.00) for years, and I just recently got an HP Pavillion dm4 laptop with Windows 7 (64 bit) installed on it. Both programs run fine in Windows 7, except for one noticeable problem: they don't display PNGs with alpha channel transparency properly.
If I create an image with a transparent background in either program and save it as a PNG (either by exporting it as a PNG or just saving it as one), the image always winds up with an opaque background. This isn't just a problem with the images' appearance, either -- if I open a PNG in PSP7, re-save it, then open it in another graphics program, it will be completely opaque, while the original image will appear transparent. I also encounter the same problem with PNGs I haven't created.
I've tried changing the compatibility mode of the programs, searching for updates, and posting for help on a forum specializing in Paint Shop Pro/Animation Shop help. So far, nothing has helped.
Any idea what's going on here?

I just recently had some work done on my computer. They basically deleted Windows 7 and re-installed and took off some viruses that were causing problems. I got it back and found out that when I go on the internet I can not download documents. I can download videos but no documents. I need help this is frustrating .

This computer is really slow and I can't figure out why. I need help with it...not sure where to start and really don't want to have to do a clean install unless I absolutely can't clean it up. Ridiculous slow loading web page when I go on the internet. When I run hijackthis it doesn't safe the log in notepad. I have tried to uninstall and reinstall with no luck. Really need help with this one please....would really appreciate it. Please advise.

hi all
i use internet at my office though the download speed is very good but when i try to transfer data from my workstation onto my external HDD or USB drive the speed that i get is just 30kbps to 150 kbps (max). It takes 5 mins to download a 1GB file from the internet but takes ages to transfer it to my usb or hdd. What can i do to increase the speeds??
I can not ask my admin to do it for me.. haha

Hi, I just wanted to post because I was given a lead on this site which lead to me getting my computer back.
I was getting cycling bluescreens at start-up, seemingly from out of nowhere. Safe mode, last configuration, nothing would work, still blue screen. It was a 0x0000007E STOP code.
I saw this post and it clued me in that the problem was probably the Motorola software I'd recently installed to get my photos off of my Razr phone. I'd installed a driver, and then Motorola Phone Tools.

Turns out there's a whole ream of people to whom this has happened to. Some conflict with setpoint and a logitech driver.
On another computer I downloaded Hiren's Boot CD and burned a boot CD. I used that to start up my computer used the XPLite operating system. I then navigated to the System32 Drivers folder and changed the name of the wdf01000.sys file to wdf01000.OLD and restarted. Yay! No blue screen! No drivers working for my mouse either! Gotta get that sorted, installing a new copy of Setpoint seems like it is going to give an updated copy of wdf01000.sys that is from Setpoint and not Motorola. I rolled back the system restore to before Motorola, but I still seem to be needing to fix these mouse drivers. Anyway, I feel like I'm almost there.

Hello my problem is that my new hp envy m6-1225dx is not giving out audio output when a headset is connected, however the external speakers are working perfectly.
A close observation show that under the device manager, the audio playback icon for headset does not change its settings automatically to default device as it should normally do, but instead the external speakers remain the default device while the headphone remains on default communication device.
An attempt to change this settings manually when headphone is connected proves abortive, also an attempt to update the drive also says the the installed drive is the latest for my system, pls help me out!

Problem:
After I install GarminExpress, the program doesn't have any option to Start/Stop startup on Windows boot, so it loads every boot which takes up resources.
I know how to manually edit MSConfig, but was wondering if there was a way to create a simple script that would do the same simply by double-clicking it.
I know that MSConfig requires a reboot after changes have been made, but doesn't killing explorer.exe and restarting the process do the same thing? Maybe restarting explorer.exe could be incorporated into this script too.
Does anyone have any ideas about this?

The Situation*
So I got the computer with all these parts yesterday, assembled it myself. Turned it on, nothing. No post, but my hmdi monitor is recognizing the connection because it doesn't stay in sleep mode when the pc is turned on. Opened it up this morning took out a stick of ram and tried again. Now I'm being told "Reboot and Select proper Boot device or Insert Boot Media in selected Boot device and press a key." So I press a key and nothing happens. Reboot and can't get into the bios to change boot settings. I see a MSI logo screen appear for just a few seconds then it goes away to the above message.
If I disconnect everythign except cpu i get one beep and two after that in quick succession. Let me know if I left anything out, or if you just need more info. I was so excited to get this build up and going, but noooo.
Anyways, I'm new to the site, thanks in advance.

I downloaded a software from Xilisoft. (Xilisoft Video Converter) I didn't install the software yet. I scanned it online with virustotal. Its detection ratio was 1/42. Only 1 of 42 virus scanners detected a "Trojan/Win32.Generic.gen" from the installer. Does that mean the installer has a virus? Or it's just a 'false-positive' or whatever they call it?

I have a problem with my E-Machines T3302 desktop. It won't show anything on the monitor. The monitor says "No signal". I have tried re-inserted the RAM and that didn't fix it. Anybody know how I can get my Desktop to boot?

Recently I've noticed at times (like about 30% of the time), when clicking on a link to a new page to open up in a new tab, chrome opens up 2 of the same page in two tabs rather than just one single page. It doesn't seem like a virus, since everything is running okay on my computer...could it be that my mouse is outdated? I'm not really sure.

I have just bought a Dell laptop. On my old laptop I had the hard drive partitioned for OS and Data in the proportion of 50/50A. The new laptop with a hard drive of 750Gb is also partitioned with the C drive being for OS at 676GB and the D for Data at 7.96GB. This seems a strange way round because the data drive would be the one with pictures, music etc. on it and so would need to be the bigger one. Any thoughts please?
